Weekend Makeup Haul

This week was pretty busy for me. Lots of people's graduations & weddings. So on Tuesday I went to Sephora and picked up a new foundation brush ( the kit came with one, but I've been eyeing this particular one for a while).

Sephora's Professionnel Airbrush 55 - $44 CAD, $34 US


I totally chose this brush over the Mac 187. Why? You ask, Well first off it's cheaper, 2nd it doesn't leave streaks, 3rd it gets the job done FAST and 4th cause someone stole my 187 :(

I was actually looking for a bent eyeliner brush, cause I heard those were pretty good too. And I found one at Sephora for $20 CAD. A little expensive for such a tiny thing. Anyway, they had one that came in a set with four other brushes. AND GET THIS! It's PINK! The set was $38 CAD, so 18 more bucks for 4 MORE brushes PLUS a case, I can't resist a deal!



So I went to MAC where I haven't really been in a while. Mainly cause there really hasn't been a collection that I'm going crazy over right now. Anyway, I had some back 2 MACing to do. So I got a Lipstick, Angel (Frost) and a Lipglass in Nymphette which I've used before for the longest time, but stopped buying ti for some reason. Anyway, it looks really good on top of pretty much any lipgloss. Especially pink tones.


Then I also bought Studio Fix, which I've never used in my life. Pretty good coverage. The thing I hate, NO PUMP! I had to go back and get one. :(

I also bought a Makeup Book from Chapters

Pro Makeup by Kit Spencer - $29.95 CAD & US

It's a pretty thorough book. Definitely a must have if you're planning to do this type of work for a living (assuming you're not taking any schooling). It's basically a "how to do makeup for dummies".


So that's pretty much it for this weekend!!!

MAKEUP HAUL!!! : Perfect Makeup Starter Kit!

Starting out as a Professional Makeup Artist can be hard. Especially if your overwhelmed by all sorts of products & not really eligible for any discounts quite yet, like I was. I tried to buy things that I liked slowly, but I felt like I was getting no where. Well it just so happens that my work has this incentive program type deal where each pay cheque we get points and with those points we can buy tools, and as I was looking through this catalogue I found this professional makeup artist starter kit. So I purchased this through work and got it a few days ago. The great thing is I now have most of what I need to actually start working using my own stuff instead of having people bring their stuff! This Kit retails for $495 on their website: www.ofracosmetics.com mind you it's not the exact same kit, I think the one on the website has more stuff than the one through my work. They also have cheaper mini starter kits.

Eyeshadow Primers....HELP!

Kay so I never have used eyeshadow primer. :O Shocking! I know! I don't have crease-less eyelids at all by any means, but I just figured I didn't really need the darn thing. Folks... I caved. Now the question is: Is there any primers that out do the rest? I've seen mixed reviews and to be honest I don't really like watching videos. SO my question is Urban Decay Primer Potion, Two Faced Shadow Insurance, Makeup Forever Aqua Cream, or Mac Paint Pots?!?! So many to choose from and I really love love love all the brands, but I can't make up my mind which one I should buy. Take note that I wouldn't be using this primarily for me, but I'll have to buy another one for my makeup kit to work on clients. Let me know your thoughts PLEASE!!!
